We know the industry we work in, and we want to make a difference with every collection. Waste is separated into six streams so as much as possible is reused, recycled or composted.
Small enough to sort it ourselves.
We strive to be carbon-neutral and as eco-friendly as possible, and our vehicles are set up with that purpose. Caged vans let us keep waste streams apart from the moment they’re loaded, instead of tipping everything into one skip.
Our sustainability policy comes from our size. We can still do the sorting ourselves, and we’ve already put in place practices that bigger operators can only aspire to. On Christmas advert shoots, for example, we collected and hand-sorted every piece of cardboard on site so all of it could be recycled. We also made sure the Christmas trees got a new life, either through recycling or in the homes of people who wanted a fresh tree of their own.
We focus on six main waste streams. Here’s how we deal with each one, and how you can help, because a big part of separation happens before we arrive.

Each stream is kept apart and sent where it can be reused, recycled or recovered.

General waste
Our most common type of waste and the biggest container in our vehicles. Heavy-duty sacks are provided on site as needed, and general waste goes to sites with 100% diversion-from-landfill policies.

Dry mixed recycling
Clean, recyclable items in clear bags. We sort them at our sites and take them on to recycling centres, as long as the load isn’t contaminated.

Food waste
We collect food waste as long as it’s clearly separated. We partner with specialist companies who turn it into biogas once our containers are full.

Cardboard
Separated at our sites and taken to the appropriate centres for recycling, at no extra charge unless there’s an excessive amount.
Tip: Flatten boxes and keep them dry. - 05
Wood
Separated and passed on to carpentry companies we’ve partnered with, so good timber gets a second life.

Green waste
From grass to small branches and hedge cuttings, we take it all and make sure it ends up turned into compost or mulch, supporting the circular economy.

Separate before we arrive
A major part of good recycling happens before collection. We can only work with what we’re given, so sort as you go.
Keep recyclables clean
Food and liquids contaminate a load. Contaminated recycling can be rejected by facilities and end up as general waste.
