These Terms & Conditions apply to services supplied by Take Me Elsewhere Ltd, company number 13913515, referred to throughout these Terms as “Take Me Elsewhere”, “we”, “us” or “our”.
Take Me Elsewhere provides waste collection, clearance, recycling, transport and associated services to domestic and commercial customers, including businesses, construction sites, events, film and television productions and other organisations.
Take Me Elsewhere is registered as a waste carrier in England under registration number CBDU425022.
By confirming a booking or allowing us to commence work, the customer agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
1.Quotations & estimates
Quotes are based on the information available to us at the time of enquiry.
This may include: photographs or videos; descriptions of the waste; estimated quantities; waste type; estimated weight or volume; collection location; access information; carrying distance; stairs or lifts; parking arrangements; and any other relevant information supplied by the customer.
Quotes provided remotely are estimates based on this information unless expressly stated to be a fixed price.
Photographs can make it difficult to accurately determine the volume, density or weight of waste. The final charge may therefore change where the collection materially differs from the information supplied.
Where reasonably practicable, we will inform the customer of a significant price change before undertaking additional work.
2.Minimum collection charge
Our standard minimum collection charge is £80, unless a different minimum charge or price has been agreed before the collection.
The minimum charge reflects the allocation of a vehicle and driver together with the operational costs involved in attending and completing a collection.
Where VAT applies, VAT will be charged at the applicable rate.
3.What our prices are based on
Our prices may take into account: volume of waste; weight of waste; type of material; disposal and recycling charges; labour requirements; vehicle capacity; carrying distance; access conditions; loading time; collection location; travel requirements; parking charges; congestion, toll or emission-zone charges; specialist handling requirements; and any other reasonable costs associated with completing the service.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, a quotation covers only the work and waste described when the quotation was provided.
Additional waste or additional work may be charged separately.
4.Booking confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed once Take Me Elsewhere has accepted the job and the relevant collection arrangements have been agreed.
Bookings may be confirmed by email, telephone, text message, WhatsApp, online enquiry or booking system, or another agreed communication method.
Customers should check the collection details and notify us promptly of any errors or changes.
5.Customer information & responsibilities
Customers must provide information that is reasonably sufficient for us to complete the collection.
This includes, where relevant: the correct collection address; postcode; site or unit number; building name; entrance or gate information; where the waste is located; contact details for someone available on site; access codes; security or reception procedures; parking or loading instructions; restrictions affecting our vehicle; approximate waste quantity; waste type; and any hazardous, unusual or restricted materials.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that they have authority to instruct us to remove the waste.
The customer must also ensure that the waste is reasonably identifiable and accessible at the agreed collection location.
6.Access to the collection
Our quotation assumes reasonable access unless we have been informed otherwise.
Customers should tell us before the collection about circumstances that could materially affect the work, including long carrying distances, stairs, restricted lifts, locked gates, loading restrictions, security procedures, restricted vehicle access, difficult parking, timed access, waste located away from the stated collection point, or any other unusual access requirements.
Where unexpected access difficulties materially increase the time, labour or equipment required, additional charges may apply.
7.Unattended collections & locating the waste
We are happy to carry out unattended collections where suitable arrangements have been made.
For unattended collections, the customer must provide sufficient information for our driver to reasonably identify and locate the waste. This may include photographs, precise location descriptions, access instructions, landmarks, unit numbers, gate information or other appropriate directions.
Where our driver arrives at the agreed location but cannot locate the waste because insufficient, inaccurate or unclear information has been provided, the collection may be treated as an unsuccessful attendance.
Before doing so, the driver will take reasonable steps to locate the waste, taking into account the information supplied and the circumstances at the site.
Where appropriate, reasonable steps may include checking the stated collection location; reviewing photographs and instructions supplied; checking obvious nearby collection points; attempting to contact the customer or nominated site contact; and asking an appropriate site representative, reception or security staff where reasonably available.
The driver is not required to conduct an unreasonable or extensive search of a property, site, estate, production location or surrounding area.
If the waste still cannot reasonably be located because adequate information or access instructions were not provided, the full agreed collection charge may remain payable. This reflects the vehicle, driver time, travel, fuel and operational capacity committed to the booking.
8.Arrival times & delays
Collection times and arrival windows are provided in good faith.
We will make reasonable efforts to attend within the agreed time or collection window, but timings may be affected by circumstances such as traffic, road closures, previous collections, disposal-site delays, vehicle breakdowns, accidents, severe weather, emergency circumstances, or other matters outside our reasonable control.
Where practicable, we will notify the customer of significant delays.
9.Waiting time
Where our driver is unable to begin or continue the collection because of circumstances outside our control, additional waiting charges may apply.
This may include waiting for site access, keys, gates to be opened, security clearance, a customer or site representative, loading areas to become available, or instructions necessary to complete the collection.
Where reasonably practicable, customers will be informed before significant additional waiting charges are incurred.
10.Parking & additional site costs
Unless already included within the quotation, reasonable costs directly associated with completing the collection may be added to the final charge.
These may include parking, tolls, congestion charges, emission-zone charges, site-access charges, and other unavoidable collection-specific costs.
Customers should inform us of parking or loading restrictions when making the booking.
11.Changes to the amount of waste
The quotation is based on the amount and type of waste described when the booking is made.
Where the actual collection is materially larger, heavier or different from the original description, the price may be revised.
For example, a booking described as approximately 10 bags which becomes 40 or 50 large bags would not normally remain subject to the original quotation.
Where reasonably practicable, we will communicate a material price change before collecting the additional waste.
The customer may choose not to proceed with additional waste that falls outside the original quotation.
12.Heavy materials & vehicle weight
Dense materials may be priced differently from ordinary mixed waste. These can include soil, rubble, concrete, bricks, tiles, plasterboard, stone, and other dense construction materials.
A vehicle may reach its legal weight limit before its physical load space is full.
We reserve the right to stop loading where continuing could overload the vehicle or create an unsafe or unlawful load. Additional collections may then be required and charged separately.
13.Hazardous & restricted materials
Unless specifically agreed beforehand, we may refuse hazardous, dangerous or restricted materials.
These may include asbestos; clinical or infectious waste; chemicals; solvents; fuels; oils; pressurised containers; certain batteries; contaminated materials; unknown liquids or substances; explosives or ammunition; and materials requiring specialist licences, treatment or handling.
Customers must disclose potentially hazardous materials before collection.
If undisclosed hazardous or prohibited material is discovered, we may stop the collection. Reasonable costs already incurred and additional costs resulting from the undisclosed material may be charged to the customer.
14.Film, television, production & event collections
We understand that film, television, commercial, event and production schedules can change quickly. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate these requirements.
Customers should provide relevant production or location information, access instructions, collection times, contact details, security arrangements, loading instructions, waste-separation requirements, and sustainability or recycling requirements.
Additional collections, increased waste quantities, waiting time or material changes to the agreed scope may be charged separately.
Last-minute & urgent collections
Last-minute, same-day, out-of-hours or urgent film and television collections may incur additional charges where accommodating the request materially affects our existing operation or schedule.
This may include situations where we need to rearrange existing collections; change planned routes; redirect a vehicle; reschedule another driver; allocate additional vehicles or drivers; extend working hours; interrupt previously scheduled work; or make other significant operational changes.
Where reasonably practicable, we will communicate any additional charge before undertaking the collection.
15.Cancellations
Customers should notify us as soon as possible if a confirmed booking needs to be cancelled.
Where a booking is cancelled sufficiently in advance and we have not incurred material costs or made significant operational preparations, no cancellation charge will normally apply unless otherwise agreed.
Cancellation after driver preparation
Where the booking is cancelled after the allocated driver has made reasonable and material preparations to depart, or after the driver has already departed for the collection, a cancellation charge equal to 50% of the originally quoted collection price will apply.
Reasonable preparation may include allocating the vehicle and driver; preparing necessary equipment; loading collection equipment; changing an existing route; rearranging other collections; reserving vehicle capacity; or taking other material operational steps specifically required for the booking.
Cancellation or aborted collection after arrival
Once our driver has arrived at the agreed collection site, the full agreed collection charge will normally remain payable where the collection cannot proceed because of circumstances within the customer’s reasonable control.
This includes where there is no waste to collect; the waste has already been collected or removed; the customer no longer requires the service; access cannot be provided; gates, premises or collection areas are locked; nobody is available to provide required access; incorrect collection information has been provided; the waste cannot reasonably be located because insufficient instructions were provided; or another customer-controlled circumstance prevents the collection from being completed.
For collections where waste cannot be located, our driver must first take reasonable steps to locate it in accordance with Section 7.
Where a collection cannot proceed because of an error or failure by Take Me Elsewhere, these cancellation charges will not apply.
16.Items removed by mistake
Customers are responsible for ensuring that anything they wish to keep is clearly separated from waste before collection begins.
Once material has been loaded, transported, transferred, sorted or processed, recovery may not be possible.
If we are notified immediately, we may make reasonable efforts to locate an item, but we cannot guarantee its recovery.
17.Ownership of waste & items
By instructing us to remove an item, the customer confirms that they own it or have appropriate authority from the owner to instruct its removal.
Once collected as waste, materials may be transported, sorted, reused, recycled, recovered, transferred or disposed of.
We accept no responsibility for ownership disputes where we reasonably relied upon the customer’s authority to instruct removal.
18.Recycling & responsible disposal
Take Me Elsewhere aims to divert recyclable material from general waste wherever reasonably practicable.
Waste will be transferred to appropriate authorised facilities or organisations in accordance with applicable waste-management requirements.
The exact recycling, recovery or disposal route may depend on material type, contamination, available facilities, processing requirements and local disposal options.
We cannot guarantee that every item collected will ultimately be recycled.
19.Waste separation & recycling reporting
Where customers require separate waste streams for recycling, production sustainability reporting or environmental reporting, these requirements should be agreed before collection.
If waste has already been mixed or contaminated before collection, we cannot guarantee that all material can subsequently be separated or recycled.
Where agreed, we may provide available waste-transfer or recycling information relating to the collection.
20.Waste transfer documentation
Where required, appropriate waste-transfer documentation may be produced and retained.
Customers are responsible for supplying accurate information necessary for completing such documentation.
Records may be securely retained for operational, environmental, accounting, regulatory and legal purposes.
21.Photographs & collection records
Our drivers or staff may photograph waste before collection, loaded waste, collection locations, access conditions, completed collections, and other relevant circumstances.
Photographs may be used for operational records, proof of collection, confirming quantities, recycling reporting, quality control, resolving disputes, regulatory requirements and legal purposes.
Such records may be securely retained where reasonably necessary.
Photographs identifying private individuals or confidential customer information will not be used for marketing without appropriate permission.
22.Payment
Payment terms will be stated on the quotation, booking confirmation or invoice.
Unless alternative credit terms have been agreed, payment may be required on or before completion of the service.
Commercial customers with approved account arrangements must pay invoices within the agreed payment period.
We reserve the right to charge statutory interest and applicable recovery costs on overdue commercial invoices where permitted by law.
We may suspend or decline further services where invoices remain overdue.
23.Damage
Our team will take reasonable care when carrying out collections.
Customers should inform us beforehand about fragile surfaces, vulnerable fixtures, restricted areas, recently completed building work, delicate flooring, structural concerns, or other circumstances requiring particular care.
We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, ordinary wear, structural defects or damage resulting from circumstances that could not reasonably have been identified by our team.
Any alleged damage should be reported as soon as reasonably practicable and supported with appropriate evidence.
24.Right to refuse or stop a collection
We reserve the right to refuse, pause or terminate work where unsafe conditions exist; hazardous or prohibited materials are discovered; abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour occurs; access conditions materially differ from those disclosed; the waste materially differs from its description; agreed payments are not received; continuing would overload a vehicle; completing the collection would be unsafe or unlawful; or circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent completion.
Where appropriate, we will explain why the collection has been stopped or refused.
25.Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to applicable law, we will not be responsible for loss arising from inaccurate information supplied by the customer; insufficient collection instructions; undisclosed materials; undisclosed access restrictions; hazardous materials; hidden items; pre-existing property damage; structural weakness; circumstances outside our reasonable control; actions of third parties; or ownership disputes concerning items the customer instructed us to remove.
We will not be liable for indirect or consequential business losses where such liability may lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms affects a consumer’s statutory rights.
26.Events outside our control
We will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control.
These may include severe weather, road closures, major traffic disruption, accidents, vehicle breakdowns, disposal-facility closures, industrial action, emergencies, government or local-authority restrictions, or other comparable circumstances.
We will make reasonable efforts to minimise disruption and complete the service where practicable.
27.Complaints & disputes
If a customer is dissatisfied with our service, they should contact Take Me Elsewhere as soon as reasonably possible.
Customers should provide the collection address, date of service, description of the issue, and photographs or other relevant evidence where appropriate.
We will investigate reasonable complaints and aim to resolve them fairly and promptly.
28.Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions periodically to reflect changes to our services, operational procedures, pricing structure or applicable requirements.
The Terms applicable to a booking will normally be those in effect when the booking is confirmed unless otherwise agreed.
29.Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
30.Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights available to consumers.
Nothing within these Terms affects a consumer’s statutory rights.
